Liturgical Ministers:
Parishioners are invited to participate in the weekend liturgies as ushers, greeters, lectors, servers, Eucharistic Ministers and giftbearers. Greeters, lectors, servers and Eucharistic Ministers should contact the pastoral associate for special training.


Music Ministry:
The Music Ministry is a group of musicians committed to sharing their faith through music. It is made up of parishioners that have many different backgrounds in music but unified in their desire to share their skill with our St. Mary community. This ministry is made up of several types of groups and styles such as: The Youth Choir for children grades K thru 6. The Contemporary Choir for students in grades 6 thru 12 Chzn 4 HM for musicians of all ages. The Bridge for musicians of all ages. All of these groups meet at different times on Tuesday evening.

Ministry to the Homebound:
Parishioners are invited to bring the Eucharist to shut-ins and those in Nursing Homes. For training in this joyful Ministry of Sharing...

Marriage Ministry:
Couples in the parish meet with engaged couples to share their insights into marriage.


Bereavement:
Bereavement ministry consists of volunteers who provide a luncheon after the Mass of Christian Burial. Help is given to prepare for a meaningful funeral. Throughout the first year the bereaved family is remembered in several ways.


Evangelization Committee:
"All ministry in a parish flows from the mission of Jesus: Evangelization." The work of the committee in the faith community is helping parishioners recognize their baptismal responsibilities to evangelize, welcome new parishioners; prepare themselves to grow in the knowledge and love of Jesus Christ; and to understand what it means to be a Christian in our modern world.


Parish Pastoral Council:
The nine council members are the elected voice of the parish community. Meetings are held monthly and are announced in the bulletin. All Parishioners are welcome to attend.


M.O.M.S. (Ministry of Mothers Sharing):
This is a peer ministry group conducted by moms from the parish. They meet during Lent for an 8-week program of personal and spiritual growth. Friendships are formed and a sense of belonging fostered.

Education Commission:
Meetings are held throughout the year. Mindful of their call to service, the pastor, the D.R.E. and the education commission work together in their common concerns for the educational needs of the parishioners.


Pastoral Counseling:
St. Mary Parish has an agreement with Pastoral Counseling of Miami Valley Hospital which makes their services available to our parishioners at a 50% reduction in price. Also most insurance plans are accepted. Your use of this service will be strictly confidential. The Pastoral Counseling Center is at 409 E. Monument Ave., Dayton.

Prayer Chain:
For those needing special prayer for themselves, family or friends. A team of praying people call each other to intercede for your intentions. Call Louise Kohl at 937-746-4050 to start your prayer request, or if you have a desire to join this team of intercessors.


Adult Catechumenate, (RCIA):
Those desiring to join our faith community or to become better acquainted with the teaching of the Church are welcome to learn together.

Religious Education:
All Parish School of Religion (PSR) classes are held on Sundays.
Pre-K and K - 8:45 - 9:45 a.m.
Grades 1-6 - 10:00 - 11:15 a.m.
Grades 7-8 - 7:15 - 8:30 p.m.
Enrichment events and adult education programs are offered throughout the year.

Bible Study:
A group meets each week on Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. to study various books of the Bible. Additional groups may form as needed. Other lectures and courses are announced during the year.

Youth Ministry:
St. Mary Parish supports a comprehensive youth ministry that strives to empower our young people to live as disciples of Jesus; draw them into participation in the life, mission and work of the Catholic Church; and foster personal and spiritual growth*. Our high school and junior high youth participate in parish and archdiocesan based activities including faith-sharing meetings; our “Youth Nights”, retreats, community service, fundraisers, social activities and a mission trip. Youth Night includes prayer, community building and faith sharing activities. High school age youth meet every Sunday for Youth Night from 7:15 – 8:30 p.m.
The junior high (7th and 8th grades) meet on the third Wednesday evening the of the month from 6 – 8 p.m.

Small Christian Communities:
St Mary Parish has several small groups meeting which grew from participating in Renew. Anyone interested in joining an existing community or forming a new one...

Welcoming Committee:
Members call on new parishioners to welcome them into the parish, acquaint them with the many opportunities they have as members of our Catholic family and to provide them with the information and motivation they need to become an active part of the church life.


Men's Prayer Group:
Men of the parish meet at 7 a.m. on the second Saturday of the month for discussion around a chosen topic. Leadership responsibility rotates.


Knights of Columbus:
The Father Charles Mentrup Council #14400 meets the second Wednesday of the month in the Parish Center. They welcome interested males over 18 years of age.

Ladies Society:
Meetings are held on the third Thursday of the month, at 12:00 noon beginning with lunch. Some months the meeting is held at 7:00 p.m. to accommodate those not available during the day. The ladies sponsor the St. Patrick's Day ham dinner, holiday bazaar and help at parish receptions. They remember the hospitalized sick with get-well cards. The Society purchases vestments and other needs for the church.


Parish Nurse Ministry:
Good health and healing result from integration of mind, body and spirit. Parish Nurse Ministry supports the teaching of Jesus' healing presence. A better understanding of health practices are provided to our parishioners through the bulletin, a bulletin board in the parish hall, blood pressure screening once a month and hosting a local Parkinson Disease Support Group.

St. Vincent de Paul Society:
A group of concerned parishioners dedicated to helping the needy: pay rent, utilities, and obtain food, medical needs, etc. They maintain a telephone help-line for easy contact by those seeking assistance. Meetings are held the first and third Saturday of the month at 8:30 a.m. in the Parish Center.


Outreach to the Local Community:
A collection of shelf stored food and household products is held the first Sunday of each month to help stock the Franklin Area Community Services shelves. Parishioners, both adult and teens, volunteer at the food pantry. St. Mary Parish participates in Habitat For Humanity and is currently assisting in the construction of homes in the Franklin area.


Volunteer Maintenance:
Every Friday morning a group of volunteers gather to clean and perform needed maintenance of the parish buildings and grounds. Please join in the cleaning and fellowship. All are welcome. After 8:00 a.m. Mass on the first Friday of each month a group of men and women perform a thorough cleaning of our worship space.

Parish Library:
A fine selection of spiritual books and video and audio tapes can be found in the hallway of the Parish Center. A self-serve system ensures that the library is readily available to all parishioners.
